Acrylic sheet is flat polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), sold under names such as plexiglass, Perspex and Lucite. We produce Calypto cast acrylic sheet on one cast line in Suzhou with a capacity of 135 tonnes a month, in thicknesses from 1 to 30 mm and full sheets of 1220 × 2440, 2050 × 3050 or 2000 × 1000 mm. Buyers can order the sheet as it comes off the line, cut to size, or machined into finished parts in the same factory.

Typical values for cast PMMA sheet, for comparison and early design only — not a specification. The datasheet of the grade quoted for your order governs. Thermal expansion is the figure buyers most often underestimate: a 2 m panel can move several millimetres between a cold night and direct sun, which is why fixing holes are slotted.

One site: casting, cutting and machining
Calypto cast acrylic sheet is cast at No. 58 Jumin Road, Xiangcheng District, Suzhou — the same site as our fabrication workshop, which runs 25 machines including 8 three-axis and 1 five-axis CNC centres and 5 laser cutters. The plant has operated since 2014, has held ISO 9001 since 2020 and ships to 32 countries. How buyers order
Full sheet, cut panel or finished part
- Full sheets. Tell us grade, thickness, size, colour and number of sheets. This suits distributors, sign makers and fabricators who cut in-house.
- Cut-to-size panels. Send a cut list. We saw, laser-cut or CNC-route rectangles, discs and blanks and finish the edges you specify. See acrylic cut to size.
- Finished parts. Send a drawing. The sheet goes straight from our store to CNC machining, laser cutting, bending and polishing without changing supplier.

What our sheet quotation states
So that two quotes can be compared line by line, every sheet quotation names: the material source and grade (Calypto cast acrylic sheet or the branded PMMA you specified); thickness and sheet size; colour or the approved colour reference; number of sheets or square metres; surface protection; packing; delivery terms and destination; and the lead time that applies to that combination. If any of those is assumed rather than confirmed by you, the quote says so.

Buying acrylic sheet in bulk from China
To buy acrylic sheet wholesale or in bulk from China, buy from the mill that casts it, write the sheet out in full on the order, and compare landed cost rather than the factory price. Calypto cast acrylic sheet is cast in Suzhou on one line with an output of 135 tonnes a month, in 1–30 mm, and is quoted from 10 full sheets in 1220 × 2440, 2050 × 3050 and 2000 × 1000 mm. Distributors, sign makers and fabricators order full sheets; buyers without their own saw order panels cut to size from 20 pieces per size.
- Specify the sheet. Cast or extruded, grade, thickness, size, colour reference and number of sheets per line item.
- Decide where it is cut. Full sheets suit buyers who nest and cut in-house; cut panels save freight on offcuts.
- Compare landed cost. Acrylic is charged on volume more than weight; see FOB, CIF and DDP for acrylic from China.
- Ask for lot numbers and pre-shipment photos. They tie any later complaint to a production lot and show the crate before it is loaded.
Names buyers use
Acrylic, plexiglass, Perspex, Lucite
All four describe PMMA sheet. “Acrylic” is the material; Plexiglas, Perspex and Lucite are brand names that became generic in different markets — plexiglass in the US, Perspex in the UK and Australia. A brand name does not tell you whether a sheet is cast or extruded, and that difference matters more for machining and solvent bonding than the name does. Where acrylic sheet is the wrong choice
The limits, stated up front
Acrylic is combustible and is not a fire-rated material. It scratches more easily than glass, and it can craze if it meets the wrong solvent or cleaner. Where a part must take heavy impact, a polycarbonate or laminated glass product may be the better specification — we do not supply polycarbonate, so we will say so rather than sell acrylic into a job it cannot do.

Questions buyers ask before ordering sheet
Do you make the acrylic sheet yourselves?
Yes. Calypto cast acrylic sheet is cast on our own line in Suzhou, 135 tonnes a month, and our fabrication workshop is on the same site. When a specification names Mitsubishi or Lucite optical-grade PMMA, we supply that branded material instead.
What is the minimum order for acrylic sheet?
Standard full sheets are quoted from 10 sheets. Cut-to-size panels and fabricated parts start at 20 pieces per design or specification.
What sizes and thicknesses are available?
Full sheets of 1220 × 2440 mm, 2050 × 3050 mm and 2000 × 1000 mm, in 1–30 mm for clear cast sheet and 2–30 mm for coloured, black, white and frosted grades. The thickness and sizes page lists imperial equivalents and sheet weights.
Is plexiglass the same as acrylic?
Yes. Plexiglass is a brand name that became the common word for acrylic (PMMA) sheet in the US. Perspex and Lucite are other brand names for the same material.
Can you cut the sheet before shipping?
Yes. We cut panels, discs and blanks to your list and finish the edges, or machine the sheet into finished parts from a drawing.
