Acrylic panel windows staged for quality inspection

Precision-machined acrylic inspected before packing

Our quality route starts at the actual material source. For cast acrylic manufactured in-house, process control starts with polymerisation and continues through finished-sheet inspection. For extruded acrylic and polycarbonate supplied by affiliated manufacturers, control starts with incoming lot verification against the quoted grade and documents. First-article, in-process and final inspection then apply to any cutting or fabrication. Review the bulk sheet quality route.

The four checkpoints

  1. Incoming material

Every sheet lot is checked against the order source and documents — grade, thickness, optical condition and protective film. In-house cast acrylic follows the production-lot record; affiliated-source extruded acrylic and polycarbonate follow incoming verification.

  2. First-article inspection

The first part off any new drawing is measured dimension-by-dimension and documented in an FAI report before production continues. Revision changes trigger a new FAI.

  3. In-process control

Tool-wear schedules on CNC, bend-angle gauges at forming, annealing oven-cycle logs for every batch, and seam inspection under polarized light for bonded assemblies.

  4. Final inspection & packing

Dimensional check per AQL 2.5 sampling, visual inspection under defined lighting, protective film/foam packing, and pre-dispatch photos against the packing list.

What you receive with your order

Documentation matched to your QA system — tell us the format (PPAP-style or a plain report) and we match it.

  • Material certificate (mill cert) — on request, any order
  • FAI report — new drawings
  • Dimensional report — on request / per PO
  • Certificate of conformity — every production order
  • Pre-shipment photos — every order

FAQ

Can you provide inspection reports with each shipment?

Yes — dimensional reports per your PO requirement, plus certificates of conformity as standard. Tell us the format your QA system needs and we match it.

How do you ensure reorders match the first batch?

Same CNC programs, same material grade locked to your part number, and FAI comparison against the retained first-article data. Reorder consistency is the most common compliment we get.

What happens if a part arrives out of spec?

Photograph and report within 30 days; confirmed non-conformances are remade and shipped at our cost. Claims are rare — the four checkpoints exist to keep it that way.

What happens if a part arrives out of tolerance?

Photograph and report it within the acceptance window in the order terms; out-of-tolerance parts are eligible for replacement under our company-declared warranty rule, which follows the material and machining standards stated on the how-to-order page.

Do you support supplier audits?

Yes. We support audits with company-declared ISO 9001 statements, order-level material and inspection documents, video walkthroughs and on-site audits by appointment.

What does a first-article report contain?

A dimensional record of the critical features on the first part of a new drawing, measured against the drawing tolerance; the report is supplied on request and a drawing revision triggers a new one.

What quality checkpoints should an acrylic fabrication supplier have?

Quality control starts at the material source: in-house cast sheet follows its production-lot record, and incoming extruded acrylic and polycarbonate are verified against the quoted grade and documents. In-process control covers tool-wear schedules, bend-angle gauges, annealing oven-cycle logs and seam inspection; final inspection applies dimensional checking, visual inspection and pre-dispatch photos.

How do I audit an overseas acrylic fabrication supplier?

Supplier audits can be supported with a company-declared quality management statement, order-level material and inspection documents, and a video walkthrough or on-site audit. Certificate details are supplied on request, not published, and no certificate number or validity period is stated here.

What inspection documents can accompany an acrylic parts order?

A certificate of conformity on production orders, first-article reports on new drawings, and dimensional or material certificates on request per order; report format, PPAP-style or plain, is agreed at the quote stage. Inspection levels, sampling and reporting formats are confirmed per order.

In-process control points

In-process control covers tool-wear schedules on CNC, bend-angle gauges at forming, annealing oven-cycle logs for every batch, and seam inspection for bonded assemblies.

Quality control at the source

Company-declared

First-article inspection reports

The first part off any new drawing is measured dimension-by-dimension and documented in a first-article inspection report before production continues; a drawing revision triggers a new first-article, and reorders run on the same CNC programs with the material grade locked to the part number, which gives each order a direct traceability link to its first article.

Final inspection and packing

Final inspection applies dimensional checking under an agreed sampling plan, visual inspection under defined lighting, protective packing and pre-dispatch photos against the packing list.

Documentation matched to your QA system

Documentation is matched to your QA system: a certificate of conformity on production orders, first-article reports on new drawings, and dimensional or material certificates on request per order; report format, PPAP-style or plain, is agreed at the quote stage.

Supporting supplier audits

For supplier audits we can support with a company-declared ISO 9001 statement, order-level material and inspection documents, and a video walkthrough or on-site audit; certificate details are confirmed on request.

Quality references

The detail behind each checkpoint is published separately: batch traceability from incoming material to first article and reorder, the quality document library of certificates, material data and inspection reports, the warranty and claims rules covering acceptance, rework and transport damage, and the acrylic appearance acceptance standard for A/B faces, scratches, haze and bonded seams.

Which inspection and documentation level fits your order

Choose this when Do not choose this when Level
You need a dimensional report on every production order Your acceptance is based on the certificate of conformity only Dimensional report per PO requirement
Your QA system expects PPAP-style documentation A plain report format is sufficient PPAP-style or plain report, agreed at quote
A new drawing or a revision changed the part The part is an unchanged reorder New first-article inspection per drawing revision
You require third-party pre-shipment inspection You inspect parts on arrival at your own site Third-party inspection arranged per order
