Where acrylic infill fits

Acrylic infill panels give a balustrade a frameless, glass-like look at about half the weight of glass, without shattering into fragments. They suit interior stairs, mezzanines, balconies and feature railings where the panel is captured in a frame or channel rather than structurally glazed.

Thickness & loading

Infill thickness is driven by panel span, the fixing/capture method and the imposed load your engineer specifies. As an orientation, captured infill panels commonly run 8–20 mm; larger unsupported spans or higher loadings move thicker. We fabricate 3–100 mm and size the panel after drawing and load review — the final thickness and any structural sign-off are your engineer’s call.

Edges, fixing & finish

  • Edges diamond- or flame-polished where visible above the frame; flush where captured.
  • Fixing channel-captured, point-fixed (drilled to your bracket pattern) or slot-in; we CNC the holes and cut-outs to drawing.
  • Corners & profiles radiused or shaped; curved runs via cold bending (large radius).
  • Grades clear, tinted or with a UV grade for exterior runs.
